ALAN OBUZOR, a Pittsburgh native, began dancing ballet with Jackie Harper at age nine. Two years later he went on to attend Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School from 1994 to 2000. He then joined their professional company at age 17. Since that time he has performed with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's company in "Symphony in C", "Carmina Burana", "Indigo in Motion", "Divetimento 15", "Seventh Heaven", and "The Nutcracker", among others. In past summers, he has attended The National Ballet School in Toronto; Pacific Northwest Ballet School; and San Francisco Ballet School - all on full scholarships - as well as dancing with the contemporary ballet company, "The Move". Alan has also toured with PBT's company in "Jewels", "Dracula", and "Journey". In addition to that, he has also enjoyed guest performing with the Laurel Ballet Performing Company in Greensburg; The North Coast Ballet of Pennsylvania in Erie; and Ft Lauderdale Ballet Classique, in Florida. Alan is a recipient of the very prestigious 1998 Princess Grace Foundation Dance Honorarium. He has recently taught a few guest classes for PBT School, and this is his third year teaching for PineTree Performing Arts Center. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking and playing with his five mixed Labrador Retrievers.
