Summer at PineTree is a time to explore dance in all its forms in a dance camp, workshop or dance intensive format. We offer dance camps for our preschool and younger elementary-age students that run for 4 consecutive days (2 hours each day). These camps include a daily dance/movement class, excerpts from various videos, a craft and a snack. Our 4 and 5 year old camp is especially suited to those parents who are assessing their child's initial interest in taking dance.
More experienced elementary-age students might take advantage of our Camp PineTree which runs 5 consecutive days for approximately 2 hours each day. At Camp PineTree, students concentrate on one genre of dance and are able to take electives in other genres that they may or may not be pursuing throughout the regular school year.
Our most advance students have the opportunity to take our Summer Dance Intensive which runs 5 consecutive days including morning and afternoon sessions. Alan Obuzor, from Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, teaches advanced ballet technique during each morning session. The afternoons are spent taking advanced classes in jazz, lyrical, hip hop, tap and modern taught by various instructors who teach at PineTree throughout the year.
We also offer specialized workshops in modern, Irish step, Capoiera, ballroom and hip hop throughout the year for all ages with or without experience.
